Alpine  Adventures

While a good part of our winter is spent at Dezaiko Lodge, we still like to get out and enjoy some of the other great terrain and snow that makes BC stand out as a backcountry paradise. Here are some  Alpine Adventures we are offering this season.

Wapta Icefields Ski Traverse in April

The Wapta Traverse is the classic Rockies glacier ski traverse. Four alpine huts linked by touring over spectacular icefields makes this trip a must do for all backcountry skiers. The relaxed pace of this trip will ensure that we have time to do ski ascents of some of the surrounding peaks as well as enjoy some great powder runs.

Pantheon Range Coast Mountains Ski Mountaineering in April

Our destination is Nirvana Pass, which is aptly named as it really is a Nirvana for ski mountaineers. Nirvana Pass hast a lot going for it as a backcountry skiing location. Being in the Coast Mountains it gets lots of snow. Being on the east side of the range it has decent weather. It has reliable access by helicopter. The terrain is amazing, with numerous glaciers tours, ski ascents, and 1300 metre runs, all within day trip distance of a base camp at the pass. It even has good tree skiing terrain for poor weather days.
