Craig Evanoff and Bonnie Hooge

Dezaiko Lodge is one of British Columbia’s original full-service backcountry ski touring lodges.

Your hosts and guides are lodge owner-operators Craig Evanoff and Bonnie Hooge — avid backcountry skiers and mountaineers for more than 30 years. Both have been skiing and guiding at Dezaiko since Craig’s father George started the business in 1985.

Craig is an Association of Canadian Mountain Guides certified ski and Hiking Guide and a professional member of the Canadian Avalanche Association. He will be your head guide. He is also head stove lighter, water hauler, kindling producer and pancake flipper.

Bonnie is also a member of the Canadian Avalanche Association, and meets the standards developed by the Backcountry Lodges of British Columbia Association to guide in the area. She is also an ACMG Apprentice Hiking Guide. Besides assisting Craig with the guiding duties, she is responsible for the outstanding cuisine at the lodge.

Our experience and knowledge of Dezaiko's' area of operation, combined with professional training and certification in guiding and avalanche safety will ensure that your ski experience is both safe and rewarding.

Craig is a super competent guide. Bonnie is a saint. They work well together.
